2025 has one more day! Y'all, it's almost over ... truth be known, I'm glad! This year has been riddled with chaos and a lot of change. With chaos and change come life lessons. Here are a few of those lessons from this past year.
(1) There are days where you are alone in a crowd ... Child of God, keep standing and do NOT compromise! (2) When your best friend asks you if you've considered another occupation, there's a reason! Consider it! We live in community, on purpose. (3) When there are days when you are so drained that you forget to eat, take care of yourself! Three simple life lessons from 12 months of living life. Lessons that drive home the fact that Jesus is worthy of me standing alone, of a career change, and of me taking care of my health. It's been 3 months since I've been here. It's been that long since I've been able to put pen to paper, honestly. When I realized how long it has really been, I began heaping loads of guilt on myself. But then, I remembered my phrase I often use at work ... "A Space of Grace" ... and I knew that had to be my phrase for 2026. Usually, I choose a word. But 2026, a phrase. As we close 2025, my prayer is that we, as Christ followers, will hold A SPACE OF GRACE for ourselves and for one another. A space that allows for our differences and holds out hope for all those we encounter. A space that upholds the weak without judgment. A space free of gossip, slander, and malice. A space that calls all within to a higher plain to live, love, and serve. A space to find rest for our weary souls. My prayer is that we will find our ultimate SPACE OF GRACE at Jesus' feet and heed His call in Matthew 11:28-30. "Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light." And I will attempt to do better at writing more in 2026 for the glory of our great God and King Jesus! SDG
