A little girl dreams. And prays.
Decades of unanswered prayers. She unceasingly prays. The prayers of countless family and friends are offered up on her behalf. All unanswered. Every little girl dreams of having her own family. The man she will marry. The children she will have. The legacy she will leave. And then ... life happens. The little girl grows up. Overtime, she learns to navigate through the perpetual silence from Heaven as the desire for having her own family begins to die ... and she begins to face the possibility of lifelong singleness with grace, hope, and some measure of resolute joy. Finding purpose is learning to love and serve others. A few random dates here and there serve as reminders that biblical standards are the only way to live life ... although most people think those standards are too high (and unashamedly tell you that they think those standards are too high), there's grace in standing firm in one's convictions. It is far better to be single than to be married to one who doesn't meet those standards. Sometimes ... just sometimes ... that little girl, who has grown up, realizes that Heaven's silence was preparation ... through seemingly unrelated circumstances ... to prepare her for the day when her prayers (and the prayers of countless others) would be answered with the Father's "yes". I'm that little girl ... all grown up. And the Father has heard those prayers prayed so long ago ... and He's answered them in such an unexpected way. And now, I'm planning my wedding. Yes! You read that correctly! I'M GETTING MARRIED!!! ... finally! In fact, we're getting married in six weeks. May 13th to be exact. Unassuming? Yep. Unexpected? Oh, yeah! Unconventional? Definitely. Untraditional? No doubt! I've never been a fan of tradition for the sake of tradition! Unknown by the Father in Heaven? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!! He has known since before time began! And so ... A new chapter is unfolding. And in six weeks, I'm changing my name as I marry Danny ... for the glory of God. SDG!
